Radiographic Testing - Levels I and II
Radiographic testing uses x-rays or gamma rays to examine the internal structure of manufactured components identifying any flaws or defects. Radiographic testing is a nondestructive testing (NDT) method. RT is divided into two levels, RT level I and RT level II. Level I and II are 40 hours long each, and each course is available for 120-days. Course extensions are available for free on request.
The Radiographic Testing (RT) Level I course will teach the student the theory and principles of radiation and how they apply to the basics of radiography. This course is the first step toward becoming a radiographic testing practitioner. This is also a great course for other personnel who want to understand the basics of Industrial Radiography.This 40-hour course exceeds the instruction outline and criteria specified in the ASNT Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189, and ASNT Standard Topical Outlines for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel (ANSI/ASNT CP-105).
The Radiographic Testing Level I course topics include introduction to radiographic testing, types of radiation, sources of radiation, radiation safety, radiographic testing principles, radiographic equipment, radiographic film, and film processing.
Radiography Testing Level II is a review and continuation of the RT Level I course. The course material expands on the duties and responsibilities of the RT practitioner. It provides the fundamental radiography testing principles and skills necessary for those looking to become Level II radiography technicians. This course is required for those who have completed RT Level I and want to advance to a higher certification level.

The online Radiographic Testing training courses will satisfy the classroom requirement in the multi-stage certification process. Our online ASNT Radiographic Testing Classes meet the requirements for "Body of Knowledge" and "General Test" recommendations as outlined in SNT-TC-1A. A training certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion of all training material and exams.
